Do What God Wants And Seat Virtuous, Principled Men And Women In Office 12/08/2012

PART  1

The country has re-elected Barack Obama. I am saddened that the United States and her sincere interests have been, and seemingly, will continue to be served very little, while Obama is president.  As a people, we have chosen Obama to govern this nation once more. We must accept the eventual consequences of this decision and hope for the best.

The one positive here is that it is no longer the fault of Bush 43. Maybe the first year Obama could’ve proclaimed such and gottten away with it [as infantile as that is], but not now.

Deflecting responsibility has always been one of the major defects in Obama’s personality. In any event this economy is Obama’s. Obama owns this dastardly mess whether he likes it or not.

PART  2

Obama represents what the nation has become. This nation is a majority nation with the diagnosed disease “freebee-itis“. Free-bee-itis includes, but is not limited to, the billions of stimulus dollars for automotive and financial bailouts, the cash for clunkers program, the free governmental cell phone program, improper loan approvals during the sub-prime debacle involving Fannie and Freddie and the Quantitative Easing cycles [printing excessive money which devalues the dollar] to name a few. We are currently in QE3 of the Bernanke debacle. Talk about national stress!

Part of the free-bee-itis binge the majority of the nation seems to favor is the no accountability phase of it. This unlimited national spending spreeof ours permits Christmas presents to flow 24/7 for 365 days. Hence, when Christmas time really does come around we feel inoculated from its real purpose and cheapen the true reasons for the season.

This constant 24/7 deluge of free-bee-itis weakens individual integrity and national character. It dilutes the true understanding and purpose of work. It passes to successive generations this pretense: that hard work and, accountability for it, mean little to nothing.

The president has doctored and anesthetized enough of those who have had this disease, to get elected to a second term. He now has a majority nation full of progressive patients, expecting free things that the government has no right, constitutionally, to give. The only giver of any of our rights as a people, come from God. No one else.

How often must we get hit over the head before we realize that the wisdom and inspired direction given to our country, through our founding fathers, is still pertinent?

A national infection of great magnitude is settling in and we are ignoring the fever and associated symptoms which tell us that pervasive problems are present.

PART  3

WHAT NOW? How can we make things better? DO WHAT GOD WANTS!! May I offer a few thoughts, as we move toward this brighter day:

Section 1) In the Bible, in the book of Exodus, Chapter 18:21 we read the following:

“….thou shalt provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness [unjust gain]; and place such over them to be rulers…”

We must elect truly humble but competent men who love God, at the local level. Use our positive influence to elect these men. In this regard, as we begin anew, we will declare two things:

a) We are more committed to obeying God completely

b) We will be blessed with able, humble, teachable leaders [local, national or otherwise]

PART  4

Section 2) In the book titled “The 5000 Year Leap”, we find a sobering remark by one of our founding fathers, Samuel Adams:

“But neither the wisest constitution nor the wisest laws will secure the liberty and happiness of a people, whose manners are universally corrupt. He therefore, is the truest friend to the liberty of his country who tries most to promote its virtue, and who, so far as his power and influence extend, will not suffer a man to be chosen into any office of power and trust who is not a wise and virtuous man.” ( Wells, Life Of Samuel Adams, 1:22.)

I am struck by that whole quote. The portion which states:”But neither the wisest constitution nor the wisest laws will secure the liberty and happiness of a people whose manners are universally corrupt”, made me think of the disturbed Occupy movement and their vile overtures for solutions to their manufactured problems. These well funded but not well thought out manufactured approaches by primarily leftist Occupy leaders has often led to unthinkable acts of civil disobedience.

Their public, widespread, contemptible behavior, sometimes visibly broadcast, has gained a type of perverted acceptance under the guise of freedom of expression. What a depraved definition for freedom of expression to endure!

Does purposeful action such as excrement on a police car fit in this “vile, perverted act” category? Yes. Such acts are nauseating and despicable at their shell and core. These are unacceptable, unthinkable and unbearable forms of societal behavior, much less what God thinks about it. Such scars on our nation’s character have occurred and been tolerated. This offensive and rebellious personal conduct must be appropriately and quickly consequenced.

Then I thought of the Tea Party, whose manners have always been clean and above board. They always desire to accomplish their planned objectives through proper channels.

While diverse in lifestyle, they are well mannered at gatherings. They promote virtue and its return to leadership. They have worked within the system for positive change; yet they are the ones vilified, mocked, derided and purposefully mischaracterized.

PART  5

Why is it we willingly take daily aspirin, prescribed by the doctor of doom [President Obama], when we need major surgery by a competent surgeon to fix what’s necessary?

Dr. Doom’s waiting room should be completely empty but, instead, it is full of progressive patients; willing to spend the money for a visit. Why does Dr. Doom’s political quackery appeal to so many?

Evil has been called good and good has been called evil, as prophesied by the Apostle Paul. It’s just another sign that things are temporarily upside down. Let’s do what God wants. This way we can stop getting hit over the head, searching for solutions that are right in front of us.

PART  6

Section 3) Regarding the privilege of voting and its moral implications, one of our founding fathers, Noah Webster, said this in “Noah Webster, History of The United States, 1832″:

“When you become entitled to exercise the right of voting for public officers, let it be impressed on your mind that God commands you to choose for rulers, “just men who rule in the fear [love] of God.”

“The preservation of our government depends on the faithful discharge of this duty; if the citizens neglect their duty and place unprincipled men in office the government will soon be corrupted; laws will not be made for the public good so much as for selfish or local purposes; corrupt or incompetent men will be appointed to execute the laws; the public revenues will be squandered on unworthy men; and the rights of the citizen will be violated and disregarded.”

The standards and ethics of our founding fathers should be emulated by those currently in office. Those committed to the cause of liberty, per Samuel Adams suggestion, will not suffer to be elected to office, insofar as they can help it, those whose public and private virtue are in serious, evidentiary question.

PART  7

It has been a challenge for some political office holders to develop character and integrity.

On the job training is not where one learns such character development, especially in the current cesspools of Washington, D. C. It is in the private halls of ones mind and heart where the character one has is tested and proven. Or not.

It is almost as if the sacred traits that encompass public and private virtue have disappeared and have been replaced with open rancor, anger, disrespect and scornful arrogance for “we, the people.”

As a people, we can give authority to the government, if we choose to. However, we must be sure the authority granted is within the scope of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

Proper authority must be [1] constitutionally valid and [2] must be given through the peoples’ representatives.

The people cannot give any authority to the government, through their representatives or otherwise, if the people themselves, as a whole, do not have such authority to give.

PART  8

The rights of the American people such as life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness are immutable because they come from Nature’s God, the great lawgiver, Our Father In Heaven.

In 1789, while speaking to the Quaker Sparks Society, George Washington articulated our natural, God given right to religious liberty:

“The liberty enjoyed by the people of these [United] states of worshipping Almighty God agreeably to their consciences, is not only among the choicest of their blessings, but also of their rights.”

What is the solution? The solution is to do as God wants and seat principled men and/or women in government. Men and women whom have a humble heart, are competent, fair, yet thorough. Men and women  whom are deliberative, decisive and most of all, honest to the core. Men and women who take on problems with a newness of life. Men and women who want what is best for their country and constituency. Men and women who care more about serving others than obtaining credit for the problems they tackle and fix. Then we need not worry if public revenues will be squandered or whether corrupt or incompetent men or women will have been voted in.“We, the people” will be doing as God wants and seating men of honor and integrity in office.

We must search for people of such principles, character and integrity. Not perfection, but solid principles, character and integrity. That takes time. However, We The People must carefully monitor and make accountable, the men and women we put into office. It is our right and responsibility to do so. We The People can continue their employment or release them from office, if we so choose. This prerogative is God-ordained and has been ours since the birth of this nation.

One other important sub-point here. Municipalities and states must be vigilant in seating principled, honorable leaders to political office otherwise, the door will remain ajar for unprincipled, reprobate types to slip through the cracks and take power. We must guard this gate jealously—and it starts in our own backyard. Each of us must take the time to get to know the principles, or lack thereof, each candidate espouses.

PART  9

A factually informed electorate is the foundation for making intelligent voting booth choices. It is the only way any electorate can make the right kind difference. We do not choose a leader because he promises each of us a free cell phone or other things which the government has no right to promise!! That is shallow, unenlightened thinking. Some call it political savviness to lock in a group or groups of voters. It is, but it is not being truthful with voters. In this case, being politically savvy is deception. Nevertheless, enough of the electorate took the bait. Hence, we have a president re-elected partly from superficial, trivial promises made to a majority electorate.

PART  10

Section 4) Let us exercise godly wisdom in our future choices. Start now to vet. Make educated city and county choices for office. Choose your state officers with the same care. Let such changes reflect conservative thinking at its best.

We must vet seriously starting now or we will have men or women on school boards and other local positions unqualified to serve. Hence, we will receive more of the same treatment we are all tired of. Let us not treat ourselves that way.

I testify a brighter, more honest day is on the horizon for our nation. I know that to be true.

Let’s get to work. Wise and virtuous men and women, please humbly apply to serve.

Within hours of the announcement that Obama was reelected, the U.N. General Assembly’s disarmament committee was taking measures to reopen the UN arms treaty talks which would regulate the sale of firearms at a global level.  As for the president himself, he was ordering drone strikes in Yemen.

According to Reuters:

“Hours after U.S. President Barack Obama was re-elected, the United States backed a U.N. committee’s call on Wednesday to renew debate over a draft international treaty to regulate the $70 billion global conventional arms trade.  U.N. delegates and gun control activists have complained that talks collapsed in July largely because Obama feared attacks from Republican rival Mitt Romney if his administration was seen as supporting the pact, a charge Washington denies.

The month-long talks at U.N. headquarters broke off after the United States – along with Russia and other major arms producers – said it had problems with the draft treaty and asked for more time. But the U.N. General Assembly’s disarmament committee moved quickly after Obama’s win to approve a resolution calling for a new round of talks March 18-28. It passed with 157 votes in favor, none against and 18 abstentions.”

There is a lot of propaganda surrounding the arms treaty, and if you read through that full Reuters article you will find a whole bunch of excuses selling the idea that this measure is necessary and harmless.

One of the main selling points of the treaty is that it will apparently keep guns out of the hands of criminals and terrorists, but as we saw with the fast and furious scandal, and the long list of government gunrunning scandals before that, western governments are the biggest supplier of arms to criminals and terrorists.

With that being said any measure that these governments take to control the sale or possession of firearms is a Trojan horse, designed to disarm the population.

Official sources say that the timing has absolutely nothing to do with the election, but that is highly questionable.

Obama didn’t have to wait for the end of the election to order drone strikes in Yemen, the one ordered last night was actually the fifth in less than a month.  This particular strike has killed three people, who mainstream news sources have marked as terrorists, however proof that of these claims have been unsubstantiated.

According to one mainstream source:

“Three terrorists, including local al-Qaida commander Adnan al- Qathi who is wanted for bombing the U.S. embassy in Sanaa in late 2008, were confirmed killed Wednesday night in a Yemeni-U.S. joint airstrike operation which targeted the militants’ vehicle near Sayyan village outside the capital Sanaa,”

Drone attacks are a truly Orwellian concept that further desensitizes soldiers and people back home from the horrors of war.  There are many times where innocent civilians are hurt and killed in these bombings but those incidence go largely unreported.

It is likely that a restriction of freedoms in terms of gun control, and an increase in drone attacks will continue under Obama.  It is just as likely that these policies would have occurred under Romney as well.

It’s time for us to stop changing the player and start changing the game.
